MountainThe Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a walking route with the circuit normally starting and ending at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, visiting the three highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m). The total distance walked is 37.5km (23.5 miles).
MountainAt a height of 950 metres (3,117 ft), Helvellyn is the third highest peak in England. Two sharp aretes lead off the summit, Striding Edge and Swirral Edge, either side of Red Tarn. The knife-edged Striding Edge provides one of the best-known scrambles in the Lakes, while Swirral Edge leads to the conical summit of Catstye Cam.
