In a solo canoe, you easily discover how your actions make the boat move, without another paddler to consider (or blame!). This course is all about making it easy. We'll cover a few key strokes including how to go straight without switching sides.

Water

Solo Canoe 2

If you've been messing about in a solo canoe and want to move to a higher level of proficiency and control, this is the class for you. We'll review and fine tune the basics, then add to your skills with draws, cross draws, prys, sculling draws, braces and more. And we'll add a wet round of rescues to complete the day.

Water

Night Paddles

Paddling "by the light of the moon" is a magical experience. We'll paddle away before dark and enjoy dusk and darkness on the water.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a walking route with the circuit normally starting and ending at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, visiting the three highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m). The total distance walked is 37.5km (23.5 miles).

Mountain

Helvelyn Edges

At a height of 950 metres (3,117 ft), Helvellyn is the third highest peak in England. Two sharp aretes lead off the summit, Striding Edge and Swirral Edge, either side of Red Tarn. The knife-edged Striding Edge provides one of the best-known scrambles in the Lakes, while Swirral Edge leads to the conical summit of Catstye Cam.
